Department Mission
The Marquette County Emergency Management Office assists local government in the protection of lives, property and the environment in the event of major emergencies or disaster of any nature; allows for the assessment of hazards, mitigation opportunities, response capabilities, resources and needs; identifies and deploys resources effectively and allocates emergency responsibilities and authority among local government agencies; coordinates activities among agencies and all levels of government; records information, decisions and procedures developed during the planning process and during actual emergency situations; and provides a basis for training and exercising personnel to operate in coordination.

RAVE ALERTS

Seconds Count In An Emergency!
Marquette County has instituted the RAVE Emergency Alerts System – a communication service for emergency notifications. This system allows us to notify targeted areas within the County in case of an emergency situation that require immediate action (such as a boil-water notice, missing child or evacuation notices). It is free to sign up.
To register, follow these simple steps:
- Visit https://www.smart911.com/smart911/ref/reg.action?pa=marquettewi or download the Smart911 App.
- Create your Safety Profile for yourself and your household. (Your information will be kept confidential and only accessible when you dial 9-1-1).
- Smart911 will send a message to your registered email address confirming your account.
- Upon verification, Smart911 will deliver your Safety Profile to 9-1-1 answering centers.
THIS SYSTEM WILL ONLY BE USED FOR EMERGENCY PURPOSES.
Examples of times when the RAVE system could be utilized:
- Evacuation notice & route
- Weather related emergencies
- Missing persons
- Fires or floods
- Bomb threat
- Hostage situation
- Chemical spill or gas leak
and other emergency incidents where rapid and accurate notification is essential for life safety.
