Unzoned townships include: Shields and Springfield. (Except within Shoreland boundaries, where county zoning ordinances apply.)
Planning
Planning duties include the preparation and implementation of Comprehensive Planning and the Farmland Preservation program.
Zoning
Zoning duties include the administration of the County’s general zoning, floodplain, shoreland, private sanitation system (POWTS), subdivision, tourist rooming house, and wireless communication facilities ordinances. These ordinances are administered and enforced in those townships that have adopted county zoning.
