Winter Storm Expected This Weekend
A major winter storm is expected to impact the area this weekend, with winter weather anticipated from Saturday night through Monday.
Mixed precipitation is expected to begin Saturday night into Sunday morning. This may include sleet, freezing rain, and rain across much of the area, with mainly snow possible over central to east-central Wisconsin. Temperatures and the exact storm track will determine where these precipitation zones develop, and those areas may still shift as the forecast is refined.
Late Sunday afternoon, the system is expected to transition to all snow. While the heaviest snow totals are currently expected north of I-94, several inches of accumulation remain possible across southern Wisconsin as well.
In addition to snowfall, winds are expected to increase late Sunday and continue through Monday, which may lead to blowing snow and reduced visibility.
Please continue to monitor the forecast throughout the weekend for updates and plan travel accordingly.
