Vital Records

Certified copies of vital records are available in our office as follows:

Birth and Marriage: If you were born and/or married in the State of Wisconsin, contact your CLOSEST Register of Deeds office; any office can assist with birth and marriage records.

Death: Any death that occurred in Marquette County prior to September 1, 2013, the death certificate(s) MUST be obtained in this office; any death occurring after September 1, 2013, may be obtained at ANY ROD office in the State of Wisconsin.

Divorce: Any divorce that occurred in Marquette County prior to January 1, 2016, the divorce certificate MUST be obtained in the Clerk of Court office for Marquette County; any divorce occurring after January 1, 2016, may be obtained from ANY ROD office in the State of Wisconsin.  

Expedited Service:

For your convenience, you can process online requests through an independent company that Marquette County Register of Deeds has partnered with to provide you this service; Official Records Online. An additional fee is charged by Official Records Online for this service, and all major credit cards are accepted, including American Express®, Discover®, MasterCard® or Visa®.

Application forms are also available for pick up in our office, located at:

Complete an application form by clicking on the above link and mail it to our office at 77 West Park Street, Room 106, Montello, WI  53949-9366; please include a stamped, self-addressed envelope for return with the appropriate fee and proper identification as indicated on the instructions.  

Fees for Vital Records are:

$20.00 for the first copy of each record 

$3.00 for each additional copy

Acceptable forms of payment are:

Cash or Check made payable to  “Marquette County ROD“;

Credit Card payments are also available with a $1.50 convenience fee per $50.
