General Zoning:

General zoning regulatory activities are intended to promote health, safety, comfort, prosperity and the general welfare of the public.  Activities include zoning and administrative review permitting, processing variance and special exception applications through Board of Adjustment and violation enforcement.

Floodplain Zoning:

Floodplain zoning ordinances regulate development in flood hazard areas to protect life, health, and property by providing a uniform basis for the preparation, implementation, and the administration of sound regulations for all designated floodplains within the unincorporated land of they county.

Shoreland Zoning:

Shoreland zoning regulations include promoting public health, safety, convenience and welfare in shoreland areas.  Activities encompass the maintenance of healthy and safe conditions; prevention and control of water pollution; protection for spawning grounds, fish, and aquatic life; preservation of shore cover and natural beauty; and controlling building sties, placement of structures and associated land uses.

Tourist Rooming House Licenses:

Licensing procedures are overseen to ensure the quality of short term vacation rental properties operating in the county.  Ordinances are in place to protect the health and safety of visitors using established minimum standards for occupancy, building codes requirements, and guidance under local regulations and state administrative codes.

Wireless Communication Facilities:

Permitting services regulate the siting and construction of any new mobile service support structures (cell towers) and facilities; class 1 collocation activities which substantially modify an existing support structure and mobile service facilities; and class 2 collocation activities on existing support structures and mobile service facilities which do not require substantial modification.
